But it’s not what you might think. I understand entirely what Snapchat is and what the appeal is, especially to the younger audience. What a great idea to be able to share images and short video clips that self destruct saving folk from terrible embarrassment later in the day / life.
Problem is… it really doesn’t work that way. Snapchat has been shown multiple times to have flaws that allow expired media to be recovered by the recipient. So how does Snapchat deliver any benefit over other messaging platforms like WhatsApp, Kik, Telegram, Facebook’s Messenger? That’s the bit i don’t get.
I’m guessing it’s BBM all over again, where something has become a platform of choice for a group of folk with no basis or reasoning other than “everyone else is on it”.
